The capacitive touch screen is a four-layer composite glass screen. The inner surface and the inter layer of the glass screen are each coated with a layer of ITO. The outermost layer is a thin layer of silica glass protective layer. The inter layer ITO coating is used as the working surface, the four corners are led out Four electrodes. And the inner layer of ITO is a shielding layer to ensure a good working environment.

When a finger touches the metal layer, due to the electric field of the human body, it is form a coupling capacitor between the user and the surface of the touch screen. For high-frequency current, the capacitor is a direct conductor, so the finger draws a small current from the contact point. This current flows from the electrodes on the four corners of the touch screen, and the current flowing through these four electrodes is proportional to the distance from the finger to the four corners. The controller calculates the position of the touch point by accurately calculating the ratio of these four currents.

3. capacitive touch screen also have one more disadvantage is drift.when the environment temperature and humidity change and the environment electric field changes, it will be drift and inaccuracy.For example, the temperature of the display will drift after power-on: the user touches the touch screen while the other hand or the side of the body is close to the display; large objects near the capacitive touch screen will drift after moving. If the user touches the touchscreen, if someone comes around to watch It can also cause drift; the reason for the drift of the capacitive touchscreen is due to technical inadequacy. Although the environmental potential surface (including the user's body) is far away from the capacitive touch screen, it is much larger than the area of the finger.
